My stay at the Mercure Brisbane King George Square was a mixed bag. While the location was excellent and the staff were friendly, the condition of the rooms was quite disappointing. They clearly need a renovation, as my room felt outdated and had several maintenance issues.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were old and run down with peeling paint and cracked tiles. Unfortunately, there was also a musty smell in my original room due to a broken air-conditioning.
Service
6.0
The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help, especially when I had to switch rooms. They were accommodating and friendly, making my experience a bit better.
Location
8.0
The hotel is in a great location, close to many attractions and easy to walk to shops and parks. I found it convenient for my activities in Brisbane.
Dining
6.0
Dining had its ups and downs. Breakfast options were limited and not served early enough for my schedule, but the quality was decent when I had it.
Facilities
5.0
While the facilities included room service and laundry, they felt somewhat run down. The communal areas, like hallways, seemed to show age.

6.2/10

My stay at Mercure Brisbane King George Square had its ups and downs. The location was convenient, allowing easy access to the city, and my check-in experience was smooth and friendly. However, I faced several issues with my room and the service, particularly at checkout, which left me frustrated. Overall, while I appreciated some aspects, there were significant shortcomings that affected my enjoyment.

Rooms
5.0
I was given a 15th-floor executive room, which turned out to be quite small. The bathroom was particularly cramped. I also had problems with a leaking ceiling that soaked the carpet, which was a major inconvenience.
Service
5.0
While check-in was pleasant, the service at checkout was disappointing. The staff member was blunt and dismissive, especially when I reported the room issues. It felt like I was treated poorly compared to other guests.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is a big plus; it's right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore Brisbane. I was also able to check in early, which was a nice touch after my long journey.
Dining
5.0
I found the hotel dining options a bit pricey compared to nearby restaurants. I had a mixed experience with the restaurant staff as well, as they seemed overwhelmed and made mistakes with the orders.
Facilities
6.0
The rooftop pool area was not quite as I expected from the photos and felt overcrowded. The facilities could use a refresh, especially the pool space.

6.8/10

My stay at Mercure Brisbane King George Square was a mixed experience. The welcoming staff made a great first impression and the location was ideal for exploring the city. However, the room had some issues that impacted my overall comfort. There's definitely room for improvement in terms of maintenance.

Rooms
6.0
The room was a bit dated and had a musty smell. The bedding setup was not very hygienic, making it less comfortable. I expected better from a Mercure.
Service
7.0
While I found the front desk staff very friendly and accommodating, my dining experience was overshadowed by the unhelpfulness of the restaurant staff. They seemed to lack attentiveness, which was disappointing.
Location
9.0
The hotel is perfectly situated near the CBD and across from King George Square car park, making it convenient for shopping and sightseeing.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast options seemed reasonably priced, but the service during my meal was slow and lacked warmth. I was expecting better coordination.
Facilities
7.0
The common areas, like the pool, were pleasant, but the rooftop bar needed some renovations to make it more inviting. I enjoyed the amenities, but they felt a bit underwhelming.

5.2/10

My stay at the Mercure Brisbane King George Square was generally enjoyable, though there were definitely areas for improvement. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the CBD and near public transport. However, I noticed that the building felt quite dated, and my room had some cleanliness issues. On the plus side, the staff, especially the concierge, were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making my experience much more pleasant.

Rooms
7.0
The room was spacious and had a nice view, but it was showing signs of age and cleanliness could have been better.
Service
9.0
The staff provided excellent service, and the concierge, Clive, stood out for his friendly demeanor and efficiency.
Location
9.0
The hotel's central location made it easy to explore the city, with Queen Street Mall and QPAC nearby.
Dining

The breakfast offered at the restaurant was diverse and delicious, though I found the timing a bit restrictive for early departures.
Facilities

While the hotel has several facilities, I found the laundry services and pool area could use some improvements.

My stay at Mercure Brisbane King George Square was overall enjoyable. The friendly staff and spacious rooms certainly enhanced my experience. However, I did notice that the carpet seemed quite dated and not very clean, which was a bit off-putting.

The rooms were comfortable and spacious, equipped with all necessary amenities, though I found the carpet needed replacing.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to help. I appreciated the complimentary welcome drink and the service I received from both reception and management.
Location
10.0
The hotel's location was fantastic—just a short walk to restaurants and the major shopping area, making it very convenient.

8.0
I enjoyed breakfast at the new restaurant; the food was well-presented and offered a great selection, although I did encounter a wait for a table.
